A family of silk traders actually lived here in this house, so this is an authentic Japanese dwelling unlike the Japanese style hotels(Ryokan) which were built for tourists. You can experience the real Japanese lifestyle here.
All rooms are Japanese style and feature tatami mats and traditional futon beds. The guest house's interior elements, such as shelves, stairs, sliding doors, and decor, are kept in their original state so as to retain the unique atmosphere of the Edo and Meijiperiod.

Obuse is famous for the Hokusai Katsushika (Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter) Museum and sweet chestnut fruit. You can visit this town by bike from our guest house. 30 mins by bike or only 1 stop from Suzaka Sta. by rapid train.
If you like nature, we recommend visiting here! There is a Ninja house as well! Eat good Soba (buck wheat noodles) here.
Garyu Park in Suzaka is famous for beautiful cherry blossoms and has been chosen as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. We will have a hanami party with our guests every year! Don't miss it!
